Short Profile: 

As a recognized leader in his field, John Coates has been providing emergency response planning and readiness for petrochemical and industrial producers most of his career and is considered to be one of the foremost authorities.  John has built a reputation that personifies excellence in the field. 

As an educator and speaker, John has taught emergency response planning and readiness internationally, focusing on bringing the issues and lack of planning to the forefront.  As a subject matter expert, he has reshaped and reengineered multiple countries and companies awareness and commitment to emergency response planning and readiness.  

John leads Global Responders Group by combining all of his strengths and experience providing the holistic approach to emergency response services that GRG delivers to its clients.

Experience:

BP's Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Region (AGTR) – Midstream Team based in Baku, Azerbaijan.  Built emergency response capabilities and functioned as the Emergency Response Subject Matter Expert for the three country region [Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey].

Unified Command Process – Worked with CCM&ER and co-wrote the Unified Command Process which is currently in place with the Azerbaijan Ministry of Emergency Situations. 

Emergency Response Specialist Consultant Rumalia Operating Organization (ROO), Basra, Iraq.  Developed tactical emergency response philosophy and strategy for BP's Joint Venture in Iraq, Rumalia Operating Organization (ROO).

Fire Rescue Chief – Responsible for all aspects of emergency response for the Sangachal Terminal and associated properties, in Baku, Azerbaijan. 

Das Island Fire Service – As second in command John was responsible for incident responses for ADMA- OPCO division of Abu Dhabi Oil Company and supported the FTC’s 270+ courses for 3000+ students annually.

Saline Water Conversion Corporation in Saudi Arabia – Fire Fighting Specialist tasked with emergency management, fire suppression and fire prevention.
